i am soon doing a 2/3 drop on my truck and while im at it, might as well replace all 4 of my balljoints. what is the cheapest place i should buy my balljoints or just try NAPA or something?

Many people have used partsgiant.com or rockauto.com. I used rockauto for Moogs and am happy.

I'm a professional tech, and if I were putting new ball joints in my truck I would buy the NAPA ones. However, be sure to buy the more expensive one if they have it. It is far superior to the cheaper version. Moog has several lines now, and the cheap ones aren't much better than the ones that were installed at the factory.

So does anyone know where to get Moog balljoints for a 2001 QC 4x4? I've only found one place that advertised they had TRW balljoints for the 2001 Dakota.
Is a Moog balljoint the same as a TRW balljoint?
I really want to replace my balljoints soon. I've got 48K miles on these and I started hearing a popping sound coming from the left front of the vehicle when the weight shifts to the front under hard breaking.
Any help on where to locate aftermarket balljoints for a 2001 4x4 Dakota would be GREATLY appreciated.

I am pretty sure this has been covered before, but both autopartsgiant.com and rockauto.com only show ball joints for the '99s. Parts are the same though for all Gen 3s, though, so just go to '99 and order for 4wd. Uppers are the same for all Gen3s, K7242, about $43. Lowers for 4WD are the press in, K7267, $52.
