Subject: Overhead console removal,,,HELP! IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 Dak, C/C with the long overhead console with the computer and stuff in it.
I need to remove it to remove and replace a damaged headliner, but other than two screws in the front of the console, I cant find anything else holding it in.
I dont want to damage it buy yanking it loose, so Ive come to you guys for some help.
How the heck do I remove this thing without breaking it????
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.....

Message: There's two spring clips, one on each side, about midway, holding it up. Just pull the console down and they'll pop loose.

Message: I take the front screws out and work my fingers into the space and then work them back to the spring clips. I use this method on all of the pannels because you can feel the tension point and figure out exactly where the ancors are.
Other than that just pull down like Mikey said.
(I use my thumbs to push up on the headline and down with the fingers I worked into the space.)
Keep in mind that there are wire looms conected to the console. So don't pull down too hard.
good luck.
