Hey guys,
I looking for an exhuast system and some headers for my 93 ClubCab V8 Dak. The only exhaust systems I have found so far my my truck is: 1.Gibson, 2.Bassani 3.Mopar, and 4.Dynomax. Has anyone had any experience with these on a Gen2?? Which one should I go with?? I'm Looking for most HP/torque.
Now, the headers that I have found are: 1.Mopar, 2.Gibson, 3.JBA, 4. Doug Thorley, 5.Pacesetter, and 6. Hoker Super Comp. Again, I'm looking for most HP/torque.
I REALLY would appreciate any help ya'll could give me. I'm looking forward to fixing up my truck!! Thanks again.

Your 93 is rated at 230 hp-- the 92/93 had larger diameter exhaust collectors than the 94 and up manifolds, and better exhaust-- thus a 10 hp advantage.
I sell the Mopar/Doug Thorley (same) headers for $425.00 + shipping, I would need to check availablity on them. I ran them on my '95 5.2L Dakota, and they made a good increase in hp/torque (would probably be less so on your truck, but still an increase, and the best you could get for your truck).
The mopar exhaust 'might' be discontinued, as I have had numerous requests for it the last few days (My dodge guy is on vacation).

hey guys,
Use the Thorly/mopar headers, they are awesome and also the best. They smoothed out the whole package for my 93 5.2. Fit was perfect and they look great, passed an emission test(by .01) too.
I have a flow pro muffler and custom pipes and i get lots of complements, but i hear the mopar exhaust sound the best, but. Everyone tells me that the mopar exhaust is discontinued, Sam, please please please say it isn't so....I'll buy the first on you find

I had a '92 5.2 with Catco converter, Flowmaster 70, and 2 1/4" pipes exiting through 4" tips through the rear bumper. Hang on to those '92-'93 manifolds; the best factory-made for 5.2 ever. Over 1/4" larger inside diameter. If I were in your situation, I would keep the manifolds, and spend bucks elsewhere.

I agree with 01M, you will most likely gain about 5 hp over the manifolds you currently have. The $ 500 can be spent better elsewhere.

arent the thorely and maopar headers shorties?
If i were you id go with the hooker super comps that if there the ones im thinking of because they are full length youd be better off with those they have 1 5/8 primaries and 3" collectors i believe they are for a 91 but will should still work on a 93. I know a guy that had them on his 92 with a 318 no he has them on a 360 in the same truck both fit fine

The Mopar/Thorley's are a Tri-Y, semi long tube.. Definately not a shortie-- they include the Y pipe that eliminates the "pinched to less than an inch" stock cross over pipe as well.
Depending on the model year, there's a different part number due changes between 92-96 model years (92-93 one style, 94-95 4 styles of headers, 96 two styles...)
Supercomps won't fit properly on 92+- not without some cutting and welding due to steering box changes, etc.

oh ya by the way, you must order three other parts from dodge to fit the mopar headers for a 93 on a 93. Even though they are from mopar it doesn't tell you this anywhere until you read the instructions. You must get a tranny dipstick tub, dipstick, and o-ring from a 94 dakota. The mopar headers will run right into your current tranny dipstick. It tells you this in the instructions but if you order the headers order these parts too.
