Subject: A/C fan stuck-Burned relay IP: Logged
Message: Came home, turned off the truck (2000 4.7) and the ac fan kept running. Finally deduced to turn it off I'd have to yank the relay. HOT! Dang thing went off as soon as I touched it. Didn't even have to yank it, but burned my thumb a little. Relay had plastic coming out the bottom and the relay box was melted a bit. I switched the relay with the fog light one (same numbers).

Message: Same thing happened to me with my Shelby. That's when I ditched the fans. Luckily, I had just enough room for a flex fan on a 1 1/2 spacer. I never liked the way the fans sapped power when they kicked in. This way, it works when I need it to work, and it'll never burn out.

Message: Had the same thing happen to mine.
Fixed it by mounting a 30 amp. relay externally to the relay box. No more problems.
