what i would suggest is go to your local tire shop and get quotes on the tires all installed. then come home and do the math to see if tirerack comes out cheaper. if it does, print out the tire selection you want, and take it to one of the tire shop. the little tire shop i go to local can always match or even beat that price since they ship bulk.

Of course, you are correct, rt13. I would guess that in most cases Tirerack's value to a typical tire customer is that they provide a tire rating service and a pricing service. Their inclusive price can be used to shop for tires at the local tire shops. Even if you could save $20 to $40 per set of tires from Tirerack - which I bet you can't in the vast majority of cases - it isn't worth the hassle.

You are a sucker, what they saved you on the combined repairs was the marked up price of the parts, you take that amount of work most anywhere these days and you will see similar "savings". They are selling you the parts at a cost closer to what they paid. I know I have worked at the shop end.
