Message: Don't know if anyone posted this yet but I just read in Truck Trend Magazine (nov/dec issue) that dodge will be ( or is allready) selling a modified Dakota R/T to commemorate the dakota R/T's last year, details are as follows: Reg. cab only, added a magnum MPI single plane intake manifold, cast aluminum valve covers, Magnum R/T cylinder heads, high performance cam and lifter set, low restriction cat-back exhaust, and a cold air intake, dodge estimates the $3225 in modifications increased the output to 300 horsepower. Article also says this dakota posted better numbers than the ram with the hemi,0 to 60 6.6, 1/4 mile 14.9@99.3 mph Base price $24,770 as tested $27,995

Message: In 1993, a regular cab Dakota with 5.2, auto, 3:92 gear, K&N drop-in air filter, and Mopar Performance 25hp computer ran 14.4 second 1/4 mile. Cost? $15,000. So the "pre-R/T" was faster than the "last R/T". Don't count on the manufacturer to build you a quick vehicle. Take the base platform and improve on it yourself. Save bucks and gain satisfaction at the same time.

Message: Than again the older dakotas were lighter than the gen 3's and that $15,000 in todays prices would probably be close or more than the prices I listed in my first post, not that I'm looking at this R/T I allready own a dakota
