Subject: Smelly AC IP: Logged
Message: Ok I don’t know what it is but I swear when I use it, it smells like sour socks or something of that degree.
It’s been this way ever since I bought it,
But anyway has this happen to anyone else?
And how can I fix it?

Message: The condensation from your AC evaporator is trapped in the underdash housing, growing mold and fungus and other smelly things. Do you hear water sloshing around? Stick something in your AC drain tube that comes through your firewall behind the passenger side cylinder head and see if you can get water to flow out of it. You may also have water trapped under your carpet on your passenger side. Lift the carpet and check if you haven't already. This has been talked about non-stop for the last year on this board.

Message: Another tip I have discovered is to park level or downhill. The drain for our AC doesn't have much compensation for parking uphill so it won't drain. This is if you have already checked the other things mention above and in other posts.
