Under moderate, yet sudden braking conditions, on 3 occasions, I've had a rapid clicking sound that seems to come right out of the instrument panel.

I figure this has something to do with the anti-lock braking feature on the back end.

Does that seem right? Anyone else experience this?

Mine does the same thing. I don`t have 4-wheel anti-lock brakes. I assume it`s normal.

I have had that exact noise happen on my truck before. I reckon it's happened all of 10 times in 65K. I looked up a TSB for my 01 2wd Auto. Came up with nothing that could be a cause of that noise. Gotta say, other than that, my Dak is solid!!!!! Love it..... and I used to drive a Toyota!!!!!! LOL

would you like for me to tell you what ozzy is trying to say?

the clicking noise involves a problem with the speedometer/cruise control and the dealer can fix it but that costs money.

I know what he was saying. I don't trust the dealer. Is this something they know how to fix without having the problem happen while in their shop? I mean, hell, it only happens rarely to me, and if it's not a safety issue, I don't really care. I have no issues with the truck......I hate to "fix it if it ain't broke." Ya know?
