Subject: Electrical problem??? Help? IP: Logged
Message: OK this morning I was taking off the door panels to take the cloth peices in to have them wrapped in leather and when i put everything back together I found that a few things don't work now!
The headlight switch doesnt work, the power door locks don't work....Cargo light doesnt work. Even the brights won't flash on when I click the turn signal!
The turn signals work...the hazards work....all the interior lights work....power windows work.....basically everything else works.
I've checked every fuse that is in the truck and changed out all the relays with spares and to no evail!
This has happened before but went away. It used to happen when i would drive the truck in pouring rain and then park it and when I tried to go somewhere the lights wouldnt work! All the same symptoms!
Maybe a short somewheres?? bare wire???
Anyone ever had this problem before or anyone have any ideas what it could be! Oh and the truck runs fine!
Thanks guys!!!
Drew

Message: Oh and the dang lights on the overhead console won't turn off at all except if I pull the fuse!
I was thinking ground... but wouldn't know where to start to look plus I dont have a voltmeter handy. Might take it to the dealer tomorrow if I have time!

Message: hope you didn't short something out in the CTM, you might try disconnecting the battery & reset the PCM too see if that works
