Message: Chrome wont add a lot of weight, but what chrome does to aluminum is the concern you should have.
When you chrome aluminum the alloy will lose strength.
You will make any aluminum wheel into a "lite duty" wheel by doing so. That's fine if all you do it look at your truck & not use it as a "truck."
Now polishing will strengthen an alloy. Get your set polished (most chrome shops will do this if you dont want to tackle the job yourself) and then you can forget the chrome.
