Subject: Plug wires IP: Logged Message: What would be a good set of performance spark plug wires for a 99 3.9?? I want to get rid of the wimpy 7mm ones. And where can i get that borg-warner brass cap and rotor set? |
Mark Forum Moderator 1/01/2001 13:29:17 | RE: Plug wires IP: Logged Message: I found MSW 8mm wires to work well even when used with an MSD ignition which wears out ignition components (wires, plugs, cap/rotor) four times as fast. They have 40,000 miles on a single set which at one point 2 years ago got melted to the exhaust manifold and were fixed with some electrical tape. You can pick these up at your local Pep Boys. The replacement set for daks may only be 7mm but you can look through the boxes and find another set long enough in 8mm which should do you good. -Mark Hryckiewicz |
Bernd GenIII 1/01/2001 20:18:04 | RE: Plug wires IP: Logged Message: I totally agree as well. The MSD "Super Conductors" work very well. Your other option is the Taylor "Vertex" wires, SplitFire Wires, or Magnecore. (I'm currently running the Taylor wires but have also run the MSD Super Conductors and Splitfire wires as well.) If you just want to go with that your local parts house carries, most will carry MSD and the Accel (Custom Fit) wires. Definitely get 8mm. Bernd D.
