Subject: one pice or two piece driveshaft? IP: Logged
Message: I have an 02 Dakota 2wd 4.7 5-speed, it has a two piece driveshaft. will an aluminum R/T one piece fit in its place, and if so would it be better to change to a one piece aluminum driveshaft?

Message: The aluminum one piece will fit but I'd keep
the two-piece steel.
I've never verified it, but I've been told Chrysler
had more than a few problems with the
aluminum driveshaft causing wierd vibrations
when cruising at highway speeds.
I'd really be interested to see what the 5 speed
and a hard launch would do to the aluminum
one piece.
Anyway, do the new RT's still come with the
one piece?
Later,
Lemmers
