Subject: Any new Dak model info? IP: Logged
Message: Despite a hefty amount of speculation in the last year or so, and discussion about whether the new Dak will be based on the Durango platform, or whether it will have the 5.7, etc, etc. I haven't heard anything solid YET from anyone, even the local hi-volume dealers, about what or when the new Dak will be. Anybody have anything new on the next Dak ('04 model or '03 1/2) as of today (Spring 2003)?

Message: Thats the M-80 which i think is just a concept vehicle. I heard on an off topic post a while back that the newer Dakota will be partly based off of the M-80. But what do you all think bout the new Durango. i hate it. I dont like that whole look they're trying to get to make it look "futuristic."

Message: More than half the new trucks, of any kind, around here are Daks. Can't believe DC would f*ck that up with replacing it with a new piece of junk. A decent technical upgrade instead would surely be appreciated. An upgraded front suspension & ball joints that won't quit after 20thousand miles for instance, and a lot cleaner underside (like on a Tacoma). Better engine control programming. A 5.7 with 5-speed.
