My '01 4.7 has 65K on it now. I replaced the original plugs at 35K with OEM Champions, no complaints, 18-20 mpg with 3:92 5-spd RC. I'll tell you what, though, I think I'll pop in Bosch Platinum +4's soon just based on my OWN experience with my '92 5.2 Dak. It had a MP computer, K&N drop-in with bug deflector removed, Catco converter, Flowmaster 70 with 2 1/4" duals. The thing ran like a top for 217K on the original engine (timing chain and oil leak under warranty at 56K). Cold winter starts were, "eck-eck-boom!"; no kidding. Bosch +2's and then +4's when they came out, about 200K on platinum plugs. It pays to experiment. However, like all things mechanical, what works for one doesn't work for all. I tried +4's in my wife's Mazda Millenia, and it was missing slightly. went back to the stock NGK's there; missing disappeared. I'm going to try the Boschs before the "Ford" plugs.
