Message: Hi to all you Dakota owners. First things first. I am Canadian and I support what the U.S. is doing in Iraq 100%. Our neighbour to our south truly is our big brother..thank-you and may this end soon.
On a lighter note. I own a 2002 Dakota Quad 4x4. Does any one have the 4.7 litre with the k n air filter? and has it increased your performance?
thanks in advance
Darrell H.

Message: As a Tennessean that has been to Montreal and Toronto, we appreciate you too, neighbor. War is war; I hated to see that friendly fire incident on your guys in Afganistan. I own a RC/4.7/5spd/2001. The only drivetrain mods to date are Flowmaster 70 series into 2 1/2" duals, and a custom 3" aluminum intake tube between the stock airbox and throttle body w/ K&N drop-in filter. The snorkel in front of the airbox was removed, along with the rubber flap between the right headlight and the radiator. K&N drop-in is worth every cent. Results are terrific. My Dak had 200 miles on the odo when I bought the filter. Don't give up on the stock airbox without simple intake mods. The performance potential is there to match or surpass the high-dollar intakes.

Message: Darrell, nice to know hear from ya. I'm sure that the majority of Canadians share your opinion and that just like here in the good ol' USA it's the anti-war, anti-Bush minority that seems to get the media coverage.
Now on to the subject at hand. With a K&N filter, either a drop in, home made or FIPK you will increase your performance and besides, it sounds really good too.

Message: I would suggest you skip the K&N filter. Lab tests have showed holes in the gauze at the size of 200 microns. Microns in the 20-40 range are capable of doing damage to the engine. We also see high silicone count(dirt) in oil analysis as well as higher wear metals. If you want a high performance air filter, I would suggest the Amzoil foam filter. You get the air flow and good filtration. We also have an Amzoil board sponsor.

Message: Gee, I ran a k&n on my 95 ram since day one now has a 105,000 miles on it, only engine repair ever made? A new therm-o-stat old one stuck! Can't blame the k&n for that though. I'm sure that any day now i'll be wishing I used the more restictive amsoil foam thing!

Message: hey fastdak..I drive the Dak 30K a year, and I have yet to cross paths with another Motorsports. I guess we'll just have to show up at Mopar shows, or something! My '92 5.2 "only" had 217K on the original motor with K&N helping out.

Message: dbbaker,
Your assumption that the K&N flows more air and that the Amzoil is restrictrive is totally wrong. Using the test environment SAE J726C, the Amzoil will flow almost twice the air of the K&N and filter almost twice as many dirt particles. The Amzoil is far superior in all regards.
Jeremiah,
Sorry, but your system does not come up in the database, I have no info to share with you.
