Subject: Tune Up IP: Logged
Message: I just tuned up my Shelby for the first time since I bought it two weeks ago. I used Autolite plugs MP wires and cap and rotor and now the engine runs rougher. What could be wrong?

Message: Sounds like you have one cylinder not firing. Could be the wire, cap, or that particular plug... to determine what cylinder it is start teh truck and with a pair of gloves on pull the wires off the rotor one at a time until one does not make a difference then trouble shoot from there. I am guessing you ahve one wire not fully seated either on the cap or the plug. Or you accidentally closed the gap on a plug while putting them in, I have done this before...
Good luck, keep us posted.

Message: Not that rough. Just not quite as smooth. Definitely firing all cylinders as my power seems good. Just a rougher idle.

Message: did you use compressed air to blow out the dirt around the old plugs before taking then out. the dirt wasnt blown out the new plugs may not have seated and you could be getting a little leakage ,and plug would not be postioned in the combustion chamber properly. recheck the gap agian as someone else posted.
