I just bought a 98 dakota. I hate listening to the door ajar chime going off all the time. I want to rip that chime out. I was wondering if any one else has, and could give me some info on how they did it. I know it is under the dash on the passanger side. I just want to know how involved the work is befor i start riping into it. Maybe i just have to cut a wire? Any help is apreciated.

Well I have a 94 and i had the same annoying problem. I found the piece that makes the dinging noise and took it out. It is almost like a very large fuse looking thing, it just pulls out and thats the end of that. But it also reminds you that your keys are still in the ignition so dont lock those in the truck
