Message: For millenia! Seriously, it might last for decades or centuries, but by then there probably wouldn't be any need for oil. :-)
But if it's an old synthetic from way back I wouldn't use it. The technology, base stocks, and additives today are most likely a lot better than back in the old days of synthetics.
