180, means it will add 180 horse power!

It allows your engine to run at a slightly lower temperature. Get it too low though, on a newer truck, a MIL(check engine) light will come on.
Lowering the operating temp does many positive things, such as:
-prolonging the life of a well maintained engine
-allowing the computer to run a slightly richer mixture because a colder engine also allows cooler denser air, with more fuel carrying capcity, which has the potential to provide more power.
-For me for instance, I've got the 4.7, that comes with a stock electric fan as well, so by removing my belt clutch/fan-(frees up some HP), it allows my engine to stay cool, without any other mods, except removing the power robbing rotating mass of the fan/clutch assembly.
As a general rule, cooler is better, to a point.
I get a kick out of people who say things like:"I installed my 180 degree t-stat, and I didn't notice ANY difference!"
Well, if you do really notice a difference, than I've got some land in the FL. panhandle I'll sell you, with water on it!

Hey Todd,
So your only fan is the electric on now right.
If so what temp does it turn on and does it keep the temp down on hot days 90-100deg?
