Message: Victor,
What engine, any mods, etc.
Unless it's shifting funny, it's NOT your transmission!
Sounds at first like a clogged catalytic converter, (cat)!

Message: Do the key trick, check the code thats geeting the MIL light.
Then look it up, if it has something to do with the O2 sensor, that makes it real likely it's your cat clogged.

Message: It's hard to say without more info. But, with what you've described so far, I'll have to agree with Texas Todd and say it sounds like the cat.

Message: I thought it was a problem on the transmission because two days ago I change the transmission from Drive to Neutral and the pick up didn’t respond it went off. When I press the brakes I feel a thrust like if someone was hitting or pushing the truck on the back.

Message: If your check engine light is still on, you can check the codes that the computer is reading.
turn the key on(do not startengine) then turn it off, turn it on, off, then back on. On the third time of turning it on, leave it on and look at your odometer. It shoudl display some codes for what the computer thinks is wrong. When it's finished with the codes it will read p-done. Write down the codes it displays and then post them here and we will help. Almost sounds like the cat might have clogged up.

Message: not the cat guys, the thing is about ready to go into limp home mode, which means it will soon, if an automatic, be stuck in second gear. it literaly could be any sensor on board or a failing PCM. best thing to do is go to autozone and let them check out the PCM for free, as well ass check to see what it is coding to cause the MIL lite to come on. the company I used to work for had a simular situation come up in a pickup a few years ago, the O2 and TPS were both bad.

Message: 17- shortened high condition detected in the o2 sensor 1/2 heater element control
56- speed control muxed switch input above maximum acceptable voltage.
You need a new o2 sensor and speed sensor.

Message: Graphite, you are using two different codes for that Here is the correct info for the 1756 code.
P1756 (M) GOV Pressure Not Equal To Target @ 15-20 PSI The requested pressure and the actual pressure are not within a tolerance band for the Governor Control System which is used to regulate governor pressure to control shifts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. (Mid Pressure Malfunction)
P1756 (M) Governor Pressure Not Equal To Target @ 15-20 PSI Governor sensor input not between 10 and 25 psi when requested to be 0 psi. (4-speed auto. Trans. Only)
So it sounds like you need to take the truck to the dealer and have them replace the governor sensor in the tranny.

Message: Nothing if you have a roll of electrical tape. Take the plastic in front of your gauges off and place a piece of electrical tape over the light. Fixed!
While your at it, you can set your idle up and give yourself a full tank of gas.
Hope this helps!
