Message: Is the radio is hard wired in the truck or is it plugged in the cig lighter? If it's hard wired it is problably youtr ground wire or your antenna is not tightened down enough.

Message: Also, if you ran the antenna wire through the firewall, it must be running through the engine compartment. The antenna wire could be too close to a plug or coil wire and picking up noise that way.

Does it Damage your Set if u have it plugged in to ther Ciggy Lighter and also is it good for the Base to be tuching the body of the CAR Not the Piece that Screws in the Aerial but a Little Below that a Big mettle Round Circle that goes around it .

Message: No, it doesn't hurt the unit to plug it into the cig plug.
No, it doesn't hurt the unit of the metal antenna base touched the car body (though it'll sure mess up the paint).
You gotta keep the antenna cable OUTSIDE of the engine compartment.
