so being that I have vowed to never leave you people alone, has anyone raced a new (02-03)sentra SE-R or SE-R Spec V??? I'm just wondering which daks I can beat and whic can beat me. I think my car runs just above a 16(I think its lower, but that is what people have said). I know 5 speed 4.7 2x4s and R/Ts are out of the question(at least most of them). So who has raced one...just curious.

My friend had a 02 Spec V. Pretty quick little car. I like the seats and shift knob. He let me drive it a couple times and i would get it to chirp its wheels in 3rd gear, we thought that was pretty funny for a 4 banger. I also noticed that thing had terrible torque steer. But anyways, yes i have raced his. I have a CC 4X4 Auto w/ 4.7 and i beat him up until around 55- 60, thats when he started pulling on me. I also have an open bed so i had drag, plus the weight of 4X4 and really bad traction. He ended up trading the car in and Got a Eclipse GSX.... now that car is fast.

yeah i heard they fixed the torque steer in the 03 models. I believe it too since i have no problem with it really. I have an auto and it spins the tires a bit off the line..lol it is funny for a 4 banger..lol. I once drove a 4.7 4x4 cc auto...didnt feel all that quick...although it had 3 people in it..i dunno 94 5.2 jeep is much faster

um no...i had a V6 CC 4x4 auto. this car is much much much much much faster.
its silver..i think its pretty...
ill race any dak...i dont care if i lose...but no stock 4x4 V8 auto or any V6 will ever beat me(unless i dont hit the gas in time...ahahahaha)

Should of gotten yourself a nice German car :) I bought a used one for 14K for my second vehical. Yes it's only a 4 cylinder Stick 5-speed (30mpg+) but it does have a turbo. So it runs on beer rather than rice.

no...no nazi mobiles for me thanks...lol. 5 speed is gay. the only time i ever wish i had a stick is during a race...and for that it really isnt worth it for all the shifting I would have to do in traffic.

One of my neighbors here in the townhouse complex I live in has an SE-R. I have an '02 4.7 QC Auto, and I think it feels pretty quick. Don't worry dude, I feel your pain, I used to have a '99 V6 CC Auto. But, I went a different route than you and updated the Dak to a V8, though I did gain the QC weight, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I would have but the cost of a V8 dak at this point was too much and I really have no use for a truck. Plus i needed to save some gas.

5-speed=
Better MPG + More power to the Wheels + less weight + Any RPM launch at your own risk :)
Fun to shift threw the gears and shift at any rpm within the limiter 6500+
Try selling you SE-R, I bet you would of paid less for a stick and when it comes time to sell do you think the person wanting to buy a used SE-R wants the Auto? No way, they want a sporty 5-speed. Same goes with the Integras, Eclipes and Celicas. That segment say's entry level sporty car.

um i havent even made a payment. there is a market for them because they are unique. I can't think of any automatic car that gives nearly as much power anywhere within $5000 of the price. I wanted lazy power and I got it. the only things close with auto are like 23,000(which i couldnt afford).

Hm, Srt-4 Neon, PT Turbo, SVT Focus, Jetta 1.8T, RC Dakota 4.7, Mini Cooper S, can all be had for about the same price, and all are decently quick (a couple are actually bloody fast). You are correct on gas though, the V8 would not be the way to go. I think out of that list, I would prefer the SVT Focus (new 5-door) or the Jetta 1.8T (mods for this thing can produce some ridiculous results, like a chip + exhaust + intake alone will have you blowing away cars left and right).
Of course, for the money, nothing beats an old beater Camaro, which brings us back to the gas issue.
Well, like I said before, to each their own.

AUTO for under $20,000=NONE OF THEM!!!!!! yes the slower pt and the regular jetta, neon has no auto, cooper cost more then 20 if you get an S, focus is not AUTO!!! RC=hell no CC=over 20 unless its NOT AUTO!!!! did u miss my whole point or what. besides if i was gonna get something like this in stick id do mazdaspeed protoge...that is the best of all the under 20,000 perfomance cars. BUT ALL OF THEM ARE ONLY 5 OR 6 SPEED!!!!!(unless you spend MORE THEN $20,000!!!!)

oh my god..... i got a story for you and your little SE-R
a guy i work with has an SE-R. he came to work today with the whole front end smashed in! headlights smashed, bumper half gone, hood pushed up and back and bent in the middle. the headlights and bumper were hanging by duct tape.
im like "man! what the f*ck did you do?????"
"i rear ended a DAKOTA!!!, his rear end had almost no damage at all........"
LOL.... this is no bull sh*t.

Oh, sorry Lil' Blackdak, I did miss the part about an auto tranny. =( My bad.
However, once you learned to drive stick well I guarantee you it would not be a problem (yes, even in traffic). Anyone who drives stick will tell you that once you've got it down, you hardley realize you're shifting anymore, it's just second nature.
All you keep talking about is how much faster your new car is, trust me, if you had gotten the 5-speed you would have saved money, gas and your car would be even faster, and in a couple of weeks, you wouldn't even have batted an eye at shifting.

Oh, and just so you know I'm not trying to put you down or anything, I'm just saying. Sometimes I regret not getting a 5-speed in my 4.7 QC (see, it's ok, you can admit it). =)
And just so you know, I live in Los Angeles and go to college in Massachusetts (drive back and forth in the summer), so I know both ends of the traffic spectrum and I still sometimes regret not getting the 5-speed.

used to have a little red thing as i called it, with a 5 speed. man i came off the off ramps curves at 60 MPH and coming on the on ramps at 80 MPH. Boy that was fun. Sold the car now just have automatics. And are they B O R I N G. You sit there and push the pedal and brag how good you are at pushing the petal. Yawn, ZZZZZZZ

I'm VERY glad I got a 5sp in my QC/4.7. It's a heck of a lot more fun than an auto, but can be a bit of a pain in Atlanta traffic (which is more than made up on the on-ramps).
Lil'Blackdak--I'm not gonna rag on you for buy and SE-R. At least it's not a Civic. I'm interested to know how quick it really is---just in case I meet one at a redlight.

when i had my mustang stairght stick, i had a on ramp with a long straight away into it's own lane.
i used to slow slow down to 15 MPH coming into it ( piss'd off the folks behind me) then i'd punch it. coming out at about 85 MPH. a cop stopped me once - i was coming out faster than him drivin on the freeway. i told him i was just trying to merge and i didn't know the speed limit on the on ramp. He let me go.

as for how fast it is i hear anywhere between 16.2 and 15.7 so I'll say 15.9 0-60 7.7 thereabouts
