Message: Have 97 Dakota club Cab sme problem. Finally found my leak. I removed the rear cab panel. Sprayed exterior rear cab with water. Between bed of truck and cab. My seam where the rear cab panels wrap around and connect to the cab rear panel were leaking. Took caulk and applied to cedar shim applicator and fitted between bed of truck and cab. Filling this leaky seam with caulk. Problem solved. Email if any questions. Sounds weird I know but the water travels from the rear seam leak up to the passenger side floor area.

Message: Happens to me all the time in my 91 on my drivers seat. the main problem for this is that there in no rain gutter where the top of the door meats the top of the cab, combind this with the horrible weather stripping and you got your self a nice little pool. my recommedation is to park inside, buy a wet/dry vac, and/or stay out of really high areas of water.

Message: Did happen to me in my 89. I figured out that I was leaving the vent open, which is right there. I just have to close it before it rains and I am fine.

Message: I have this problem too. But for me there is a leak in the rear window seal. The water leaks in behind the back seat and slowly drains down to the rear passenger foot area, follows a channel along the side of the of the driver seat where some wires run, then collects in the driver foot area because that is the lowest point.
I had a couple of inches of water and tore apart the front end of the cab(door seams, AC vents, etc) before I found another web site where people posted the same problem.

Message: My problem was that a pin in the windshield cowl was missing. Bought one for 89 cents and put it back in. No more water for me.

Message: I found two leaks in My 98 extended cab. The first, the sliding window, the second, the seam at the back of the cab down at the bottom, behind the bottom tray under the back seat. I believe I have that fixed.
Then I noticed two areas just forward of the doors that seem to be letting water in, any ideas on where this water might be coming from???

Message: I had the same issue but on the passenager side about a year ago. It ended up being the welding between the back window and the body of the truck. Once I got that re welded everything was fine. I know a couple of people who had the same issue and it was located in the same spot, try looking there. You have to tear out the side panel and have someone spray water at the back of the truck and then you can see it dripping and if you do that's the spot.

Message: I had same issue last year on my 2005 Dakota Club Cab. It turned out
to be a spot welded seam on drivers side cowl area under wiper
support.Water was streaming down inside firewall under the
carpeting.
Remove the wipers, plastic air intake trim panel and wiper motor
assembly. You will see a body seam that has been sealed and mine
failed. Took several attempts to test, inspect and re-dry to seal but
after a year it is still good. It is hard to reach behind the wiper
support and can only be seen with an inspection mirror for the area
most likely to be leaking.
Had to climb onto the engine to gain access ( you almost need to be
a contortionist )and blob caulking on my hand to rub around the seam
to make sure it filled any gaps since you will not get a caulking gun
into that area. Clean with alcohol and dry thoroughly first.
I used a hi performance Dow Silicone 791 from work but any hi quality
silicone or urethane should work. I've heard urethane is actually best.
