Subject: 98 front brakes IP: Logged
Message: i need to fix my front brakes on 98 dakota, seems left side rotor is grooved but not the right side,should i have them turned or just replace them? also is there a special tool that you need to remove the rotors? i plan on doing the job myself is there anything i need to know that might make the job a bit easier for me?

Message: The job is easy .
1. get new roters.
2.get mighty pads they have the best wear.
they are price but worth the money.
3. also you need allen wrenchs to remove the cailapers.

Message: I had the same problem, I had a groove wore into my left driver side rotor. I found upon inspection the outer wheel bearing had seized up and broke. I suggest you check both wheel bearings on that rotor first before you spend money on anything else. Unfortunately I couldn't find anyone including Dodge that sold the bearing seperately, they sell it as a whole hub assembly for like 150$ But I ran accross a guy who had the same problem and he worked at Napa and gave me the bearing I needed. So if they tell you they can't just sell you a bearing then its a lie it can be found. All you need to fix this is a couple ton press to press the old out and the new in. If thats the problem that is
