Message: I own a 99 Dakota and had to have the lower ball joints replaced at 29000 miles just under warrenty. Ball joints should last twice that long at least.

Message: if you beleive 58 thousand miles is normal for low balls then you must be stupid, they should last for 100 thousand before showing significant wear and go 120 thousand before replacement.

Message: I must be out of it because I just now heard about the problems Dodge is having with ball joints. I had to have my front joints replaced at 46K. It was Goodyear Tires that discovered the problem when I purchased new tires. Dodge mechanics did not want to even look at my truck, insisting that Goodyear did not know what they were doing and that the ball joints should last a minimum of 60K. It took 2 trips to Dodge & alot of cursing before they looked at my truck and realized Goodyear was in fact correct. I've had numerous problems with the Dakota. It is a very well maintained pickup and not abused. I do not know what Dodge did when they made this truck, but it is definately the last Dodge that I buy.

Message: I think you all are doing this all wrong. I see alot of people *(&^ing about how thier truck is a piece of crap. This that ant the other fell apart, broke and stopped working, and they treat thier truck like a fragil egg. I beat the H3ll outta my truck and it loves it. I think y'all should buy little cars if you wanna pamper your ride. These trucks get boared when thier not used right. 20,000 miles on a 3 year old truck, what's up with that? I have 100,000 on my 99 and it runs very strong, no new heater cores, or ball joints. I put the last 29,00 on since I came back from Korea in December 02 (thats 29,000 in 13 months)
