Subject: 2001 dakota throttle problem IP: Logged
Message: i bought a 2001 dakota sport 4x4 in feb. it now has 4300 miles and has developed an intermittent problem. there are times < usually when the engine is still cold> when for lack of a better term the "choke" seems to stick or something. the engine revs high and remains high even when you take your foot off the gas. after a couple of miles of driving it goes away. im gonna take it in to the dealer i was just wondering if this was a common problem?????? my powertrain is a 3.9 5spd...thanks

Message: I have a 2001 4.7 with a Manual tranny. I wouldn't worry about it to much. My Dakota seems to rev fast when the engine is cold but after driving about a 1/2 mile it runs fine. I also have a 93 suburban that does the same thing.
