Message: Check your Idle Air Control unit, this controls idle speed when off the gas. some time it pulls a code, some times not.

Message: I had the same problem in June and July of 2003 in California. I was also getting a strange new vibration that I could feel in the gas pedal, and hear when I accelerated. It got steadily worse, till my water pump blew a month or so later. I replaced it and havn't had a problem since. No more stalling at stop signs

Message: My 01 Dakota with a 4.7 had the same problem at 45xxx miles. I couldn't pinpoint the problem so I started cheap and replaced what looked like a clean air filter. After 5 bucks problem was instanly fixed. Since then I installed a cold air intake on from "intakeforce" which I bought off ebay for 43 bucks. Its a complete kit with 2 piece aluminum tube, sleves to conect tube, filter, and clamps. About a 30 min install. Great product! Gave truck powerful tone, noticealbe gain in HP, and increased mileage to 18mpg on interstate. Definately no complaints here.

I had the work done about a year or so ago. it was about $400 in the end but it runs great now.
