Subject: Would a 10in or 12in sub fit here?
IP: Logged

Message:
i was wondering if it would be possible to put a 10in or a 12in sub under my stock speakers in my '92 dak in the back? i would do a lot of cutting and trimming and removing the cusion below it. my friend says that would be an awsome place to put it, but would it be too close to the 6x9's that i have in place now? i can put them under the seats, but then i don't know where to put the amps. any information on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Anything is possible but you would have to seal up the area and that might be difficult with the factory speaker there.

Thanks. Do you or anyone else know where I could fit two 10's or two 12's? I could fit them under the rear seats, but wouldn't the lids to cover the storage area cut off the air to the sub itself? I would buy an enclosure to put in the bed, but I use the bed too much to do that. thanks again.

I'm removing the rear speakers I can fit a 10" morel in the stock location, where the 6.5" were(I'm pretty sure) I will need to make a spacer ring. If they do not fit I will be putting them under the rear seats or putting 8" in the walls.
I will then "seal" the hole cavity inside and the out side with dampeing material . The guys figure this should pound if I put one on each side. I really do not need rear speakers. I am gonna cuut my tool tray tonight to mount than amp in it.
Too big for anywhere else.
http://www.american-audio.co.jp/morel/hybrid_sub.htm for the mounting depths or
http://www.morel.co.il/car/components/subwoofers/hcw10.html for the manufactures site
