Subject: Fuse for an amp IP: Logged
Message: I have a MTX 421D it has 2 20 amp fuses built in. i was woundering what i need to put inline to keep my amp safe. 40? 50? 60? can some on help me out

Message: Putting a 60 amp fuse in a wire that is only capable of supporting 30 amps is a good way to start a fire.
The proper inline fuse is determined by the guage of the wire and it's length, not the amp.
The inline fuse is to keep the wire safe, not the amp. The fuses in the amp are to keep the amp safe.
