Message: Depends on Box design. You really need a high volume box and you would need to figure out the correct length for the port tubes, etc, for a ported configuration to work correctly. A ported box requires a larger amount of space than a sealed box, especially with 2 speakers in a single box. It sounds like what you have is a regular cab clone of the thunderform. I guess the important question is, does it sound good to you now? If so, then "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Personally, I like the sound of a correct size sealed box better than a ported box. But thats all up to the listener.
Just my opinion.

Message: With a RC you really don't have enough space for a ported box and 2-10" subs. Stick with your box if it sounds good. In general ported boxes are not used in car applications as much as they are used in home stereos.

Message: I agree with Lattimer on just about everything. I have a ported box in my RC and it sounds great. It somewhat depends on the music you listen to. If you want more of a hard thump then you shouldn't have a port. If you want it to like eco or should i call bounce,.. i dont really know what to call it you should have it ported. either way it sounds great depending on the sub. I like ported myself,... but that's just my opinion. Peace out!!
