Subject: Changer Under Seat? IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone installed a CD changer under the rear seat in a Club Cab? I have a 2001 and really don't want to put it in the center console. I was hoping somebody had put one under the bench in a club cab and possibly had some pics. Thanks.

Message: Shoot,
I was thinking that if I got just a 6-disc changer it would have enough room to fit. Have you tried it under the driver or passenger seat? I haven't looked under there to see if it would fit or not. I really hate to give up my center console for a changer, I store a lot of stuff there!

Message: I put my big 10 disc changer in my console. I still have room in my console also. Right now I have five switches for various lights/amps, I keep all of my phone acc. in there along with some papers. I have a 02' cc.

Message: Just realized something...my fiancee wants to give me a changer, and I realized that if I stand it on it's 'back' (meaning, with the access door facing up) it fits almost perfectly in that little space between the seats, just behind the 'holding tray' (I have a 40/20/40 front seat arrangement). That would be a killer place for it.

I liked your idea, but gave me a problem with my JVC 12 disc (which I had in my other CD I used to have). The changer is a bit too wide, causing a problem if you need to adjust the seats. Just today, I pulled out the center seat in my Dak Quad Cab. I am considering buying a console or bulding something that would work. The only bad thing is that I have no armrest for the time being.
I like having the holding tray, so I did not want to take that out. I have no use for the center front seat though.

Message: A thought....wonder if you could buy the center console that comes installed on the Dak's with the bucket seats, and install the changer inside of that (there seems to be PLENTY of room). I know what you mean bout the JVC 12-disc changer. My fiancee has the same one, and I should have said that it fits perfectly...IF you don't adjust the seat. I almost never do, but I can see what you mean. However if you had one of those dink 6-disc changers it would probably pop in just fine. If I install one I'll probably go for that.

Message: Mine is in the glove box. Fits like a dream. I have tons of storage in the center console so I wasn't worried about the lost space. You can unscrew and pull out inner part to make all the room you'll need....need to make a braket for yourself though.
