This may sound like a dumb question but, I want to know how to get the dash panel off without breaking it. I looked at a page that showed how to do it on the 2001 daks but I have a 2000 and it seems to be a bit different. A friend of mine did his dak and told me that the panel just pops off, but hes in boot camp right now so no help from him. I already have the wiring harness and I'm going to get some connecters from Radio Shack tomarrow and I can hardly wait to get it in there.
Sorry for being so long winded but I'm excited :)

I gotta 2000 as well. Its pretty simple to do. Just GENTLY pop off the black trim piece that covers the gauge cluster and the radio. Go slow and dont use any tools that may scratch up the trim. I used my fingers to pull off the panel. Make sure you pull evenly on each side of the panel. Dont pull one side out before the others or you might break the trim piece. You may need to put the truck in gear if its an auto to get the panel up out of the way of the radio area. Its only four bolts to get the factory radio out. To put the piece back in line up the holes for the panel and again GENTLY push the panel in. Youll probably have to tap in the panel a few times to get it to "pop" in place. Ive installed decks in lots of cars and my Dakota was one of the easiest to do. Hope this helps you out.
