Message: i have a 99 dak sport 5.2L , and it has the factory am/fm CD/cassette deck in it. i also have the audio control buttons on my steering wheel to control the volume, and change the track or radio station. my question is if i put an aftermarket CD player in it, is it possible to still have the steering wheel audio controls work on the aftermarket player???? has any one ever done this, let me know . thanks

Message: Yes, u can use them. But the only bad thing is u have to buy some special connector so it can attach to the aftermarket radio. Its kinda pricy so i didnt even get it for my aftermarket radio. I just used my remote that came with it. But i think the price is around $40 or so. Hope this helped

Message: You can buy a aftermarket steering wheel audio control interface made by a company called Swix.As long as your head unit has a remote you can program your steering wheel buttons to do any of the same functions as your remote. I had one in a Grand Prix GTP that had all the wheel controls and it worked pretty good but was a b#$ch to program right. Check Crutchfield or Etronics online.
