Subject: Mounting depth problem...HELP! IP: Logged
Message: I just got my unloaded Thunderform and from what I saw on the multiple threads about "Best Sub for Thunderform" and some other research I went with the IDQ's. But when I tried to put 'em in they're about 1/8 to 1/4" too deep!! Do you know of anything special to do?? I thought of either making a spacer or doubling up on the seals (use both the ones that came with the T-Form and sub) but these seem like shakey solutions. Any Info would be GREATLY appriciated.
Thanks in advance

Message: if possible, make a wood spacer. Out of MDF board. This might work

Message: Have you considered doing a little fiberglass work in the box? You can cut-out the piece of the box your subs are hitting on and patch it with fiberglass. If you are not familiar with doing this kind of repair, go to your custom audio shop and ask what they would charge to make this alteration for you. I'm sure it would be MUCH cheaper than replacing the subs you have.
Good Luck!
