Subject: speaker sizes IP: Logged
Message: Hey, I have a 2001 RC slt with the infinity system. I am getting ready to put some audiobahn components in. I need to know what size the speaker in the door is. It looks small like 5.25 but I would like to know for shure. Crutchfields numbers don't seem to be right. Also if you can tell me what my rear pillars speakers are too.
Oh yeah, how do you guys like the flame q subs? I'am thinking about replacing my two 10" punch z's for one 10" flame q to save room.

Message: I don't have any sizes for you but cruthfield is
usually correct. As far as the flame Qs go, I
have not heard the best things about them.
They look good but can do much better for
your money. If you are jost looking to save
space use kicker solo blaric subs. They hit
hard in the smallest boxes.

Message: The 01 are the same as the 02 from what I know...
So you got 6 3/4" up front. I just dropped a 6.5" set of Infinitys in and thus can confirm there is plenty of room up there despite the small-ish looking grill at the bottom of the doors. I'll have pictures up on my web site (linked below) this weekend of the install.
I'll also second Mike's recommendation of Kicker subs. I'm putting a single S8L52 in small sealed box soon hopefully.

Message: It is very easy to get the door coverings off. Just remove the screws around the edge of the door (Philips) and the two torq screws, on the handle area. Lift up and pull out. very simple. Then be careful to disconnect any wires from power locks or doors and from the actually door latches.
