Subject: bench seat in my dak and box options. IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 dak club cab and right now I have my box layed across the back seat for my subs. I want to put my box upright vertical in place of the smaller fold up seat. can I switch the small seat and the big seat? how are the bolts that hold them attached? can I switch the passenger seat for the drivers and let people in that way?
or worst case senario should I just push my seat all the way up for those few times I actually have back seat passengers. move back seat(how and what I would like) or move front seats(seems it would be akward)

Message: The bolt pattern is different for the two seats. You would have to do some modifications to switch seats.

Message: Conig,
Check out these two web pages. The first one is mine, the second is another dakota. These will hopefully give you some ideas on how to install you system.
I took out the small seat in the back and placed the box for my 15" there. I rarely have anyone in the back anyway so it's not a real problem of moving the drivers seat every once and a while.
Tell me what you think of my system!!

Message: thats exactly how I was thinking of doing my install 2 12's in a deep large box upright in a column just like were your 15 is at and my alpine 1507 under the larger seat.
only reason I wanted the seat switched was for the convenience of entering with the sliding seat. I also hardly ever use my back seat but I wanted to be able to in case I needed.
your system is tight kid! hows it sound with a large 15 like that?
I also have a 90 by four alpine sitting here I was going to sell it you think I should wire it to channel and run my mids and highs with it?
I'll post some pikc when I finish it.

Message: Hey as long as you have it hook it up and make your system really bump. If you are going to put them under the back seat all you have to do is a little cutting of that plastic, my friend did it and he said it really wasn't that hard.
Everyone who listens to my system loves it. Not only do they complain about the bass making their nose itch but the components are clear as a bell.
I pulled up to this guy on my football team and he was bumping his car. So he showed his system to me and He said your bass may be better but my highs are. We got in my car and I put in my tweeter tests and he just sat there...amazed!!

Message: My friend installed them and he said he used a piece of plywood and then just mounted the tweeter in the wood itself. I have 350 watts running to my JL Audio components and they sound great. I strongly recommend them to anyone.

Message: Conig!
R/Truck is right, the bolt patters are different ***HOWEVER***
you can move the double seat to the passenger side and it will be supported with all 4 bolts properly. the driver (single) seat wouldnt not be supported properly.
However, build yer box there and leave the seat out.
thats what i did.
still re-working the box. didnt like how tall i made it.
Dave.
